2026 Fantasy Outlook
Dominguez is so loaded with tools that expectations entering 2025 were sky high despite the fact he had only 100 regular-season big-league plate appearances under his belt. The campaign didn't go smoothly for the player whose otherworldly skill set earned him the nickname The Martian, as he recorded a mediocre.719 OPS across 123 games, often struggled in the field and saw his playing time diminish late in the season and into the playoffs. Dominguez did flash good speed with 23 stolen bases in 28 attempts, but he knocked just 10 long balls and ranked in the 14th percentile leaguewide with a 26.8 percent strikeout rate. The caveat, of course, is that Dominguez is still quite young (he'll turn 23 just before spring training), which creates more intrigue around New York's plans for him. By bringing back veteran Trent Grisham for another year, the Yankees potentially created another outfield logjam, especially if Cody Bellinger is re-signed. Despite his poor .569 OPS versus southpaws last season, Dominguez probably deserves a chance to develop with an everyday role, but it's unclear if that's in the cards for him in 2026.
