2025 Fantasy Outlook
Pitching for his fourth team in as many seasons, Uceta emerged as a trusted reliever for Tampa Bay, particularly as the 2024 campaign was winding down. The 26-year-old was recalled from the minors in late-June and became part of the Rays' fluid mix for save opportunities after closer Pete Fairbanks suffered a season-ending injury last August, recording five of the team's final 13 saves for a near 40 percent team save share over that span. For the season, Uceta produced an outstanding 1.51 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 57:8 K:BB across 41.2 innings, though his mediocre results during his minor league career (4.15 ERA, 1.28 WHIP over 457.2 innings across eight seasons) make it difficult to project what he'll offer this coming year. The right-hander is likely to remain part of Tampa Bay's high-leverage mix to open 2025, but any save chances will likely correlate with Fairbanks' availability this season. Read Past Outlooks
