Rogers and the O's had the last laugh in 2025 after some mocked the team's 2024 trade to acquire the left-hander -- after all, Baltimore gave up both Kyle Stowers and Connor Norby in the deal. Initially optioned to Triple-A upon his return from a knee injury in 2025, Rogers made his first big-league start of the season May 24 and went on to post a mind-bending 1.35 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 100:26 K:BB across his first 106.2 innings before enduring a six-run hiccup in Yankee Stadium in his final outing. That 1.35 ERA was the best in team history through 17 starts, and the southpaw showed increased velocity after visiting Driveline Baseball last winter. The numbers hold up fairly well under scrutiny, though even the kindest estimators have him a run worse than his surface ERA last season. At 28, Rogers has positioned himself near the top of the Baltimore rotation following his breakout campaign. Read Past Outlooks
