Jose Fermin

The Cardinals were searching for offensive help in every corner of their roster last season, but even with that Fermin wasn't able to sniff the lineup on a regular basis. He didn't exactly make a compelling case for himself in the few opportunities he was given, either, looking overmatched in his 79 plate appearances. The 26-year-old did put together easily his best offensive showing at Triple-A Memphis, but considering it was his fourth stint at the Triple-A level, that's not exactly something to write home about. Fermin has speed and offers some defensive versatility, but he appears no closer to carving out a big-league role than he did at this time last year. Read Past Outlooks
