Sanchez has managed to tick his strikeout rate down consistently each year, and in 2025 it got down to right around the league average for the first time at 22.1 percent. The 28-year-old also continued to hit the ball with authority, sporting a 43.4 percent hard-hit rate, 11.1 percent barrel rate and 91.3 mph average exit velocity. Unfortunately, all that added up to underwhelming production again, with Sanchez's OPS dipping to .699. A full season at Daikin Park gives Sanchez a better spot for left-handed power, but he barely played versus lefties down the stretch for the Astros and that's unlikely to change in 2026. Sanchez has always seemed on the verge of a breakout and many of his metrics remain promising, but at some point we have to conclude that this is just what he is. Read Past Outlooks
