Ryan Ritter News: Getting afternoon off

Ritter is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Since being reinstated from the 10-day injured list Aug. 15, Ritter had started in each of the Rockies' ensuing nine contests and went 10-for-32 with five RBI and four runs during that stretch. Unless he's used off the bench Sunday, Ritter will put his 10-game hitting streak on hold in the series finale. Tyler Freeman will spell him at second base.
