Closer Watch
New York Yankees – Andrew Miller notched a five out save in Monday's game while Dellin Betances allowed four baserunners in one inning of work. Manager Joe Girardi maintains the two will split save opportunities, but Miller looks like the better bet as of now.
Pittsburgh – Mark Melancon entered in the ninth with a four run lead, and it is a good thing considering he allowed three runs on four hits before finally disposing of the Tigers. He is not in danger of losing his job, but his owners have to be frustrated with a bumbling performance in a non-save situation.
Tampa Bay – Brad Boxberger struggled a bit but notched his third save Monday. Then Kevin Jepsen picked up Tuesday's save when Boxberger was given the night off after pitching three times in four days. Jake McGee is out until around the end of April or beginning of May and Boxberger is safe in this role at least until then. Boxberger has been good overall, but the closing situation here looks volatile.

Recommended Pickup
Alex Guerrero, 2B, LAD – All due respect to Juan Uribe, who has managed to put together a 15-year career, but sooner or later the Dodgers might have to call it quits on Uribe and move on to the Alex Guerrero effort. Uribe managed just one extra-base hit in 51 spring training at-bats and he is 3-for-13 with no extra-base hits on the season. Uribe was back in Tuesday's lineup after missing two games with a hamstring injury and in the meantime Guerrero knocked home six RBIs. Guerrero hit .329/.364/.613 with 15 home runs in 65 Triple-A games last year while missing a chunk of time because a teammate bit off part of his ear. Guerrero has had a raw deal and has performed in his time with the Dodgers, yet the Dodgers have not given him a real shot. Uribe has played in more than 103 games in a season just once since 2011, and already he is struggling with the hamstring, so Guerrero remains in a position to jump on playing time when the situation arises.
Other Recent Recommendations:Mark Canha, Kevin Kiermaier, Stephen Vogt, Miguel Castro, Jake Lamb.
